The local Subaru dealer said there was a 50 - 50 chance keys purchased on the internet would work. One key at the dealer would have been over $300 with the FOB. I got a pair for $69 from Remotesremotes and paid the dealer to program them for $77.  2 keys worked fine and for only $147 total!!!

Had (2) keys programmed and cut at the local Subaru dealership. Total cost for programming and cutting was $87. Still a hefty bill for a replacement key, but far better than some of the quotes I've seen around the web.
