  • Key must be laser cut by a qualified auto locksmith or dealer before programming.
  • An existing MASTER key is required, if you have a grey valet key this procedure will not work. Dealer/locksmith programming will be required.

Key Programming:

1. Insert an already programmed master key into the ignition. Do not turn.

2. Press and release the gas pedal 5 times.

3. Press and release the brake pedal 6 times.

4. Remove the key from the ignition.

5. Insert the new key you want to program into the ignition.

6. Press and release the gas pedal one time.

7. Wait 1 minute. The security light will be blinking for this one minute. When it stops blinking your key is programmed. To end programming step on the brake one time.

TIP: Look for your security light. This light will guide you during the programming procedure. The security light will go off at Step 1. It will remain off until Step 6. The security light will be come on and start blink after Step 6 until the key is programmed. If the security light comes on after Step 4 STOP the procedure and start over again.

TIP: If you perform this procedure too slowly your car will not go into programming mode. If you cannot get your car into programming mode make sure you are using a master key and not a valet key. If you have a master key then you will probably need to perform this procedure more quickly.

Remote Programming:

1. Close all doors including the trunk and leave the key out of the ignition. Within 5 seconds perform the following. Open the driver side door. Insert the key into the ignition and pull it out TWICE. Do not turn key.

2. Within 40 seconds perform the following. Close and then open the driver side door TWICE. Insert the key into the ignition and pull it out ONCE.

3. Within 40 seconds perform the following. Close and then open the driver side door TWICE. Insert and leave the key in the ignition. Close the driver side door. Turn the ignition to the ON position (Just before starting the car, do not start the car) then turn the ignition to the OFF position. Remove the key from the ignition.

4. The door locks should now automatically cycle which indicates the vehicle has entered programming mode. If the locks did not cycle start the procedure over from step 1. If the locks cycle proceed to step 5.

5. Within 40 seconds perform the following.

A) On the remote being programmed press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons for 1 second and release.

B) Immediately after letting go press and hold the lock button for 1 second then release. The power door locks should then cycle once confirming successful programming. If the locks do not cycle or cycle twice repeat this step. For any other new remotes repeat steps 5 A and B or they will not be programmed.

6. Open and close the driver side door. Test all remotes.
