Keys were easy. Got them cut, programmed them in 3 minutes or less.....unlike the 2 remotes

5 of 5 2002 4Runner Replacement Keys May 4, 2020

Ordered 2 remotes and 2 "chipped" keys.
Remote programming was easy and worked flawlessly.
Chipped keys were not needed for my particular vehicle, but wanted to cover the bases when getting spares.

They keys were cheap and and arrived quickly. The link for programing them was for the fob. I looked elsewhere for the programing directions which worked. I cost $2.12 to cut at the hardware store.

5 of 5 The keys work perfectly! April 4, 2017
Reviewer: scottk from Olathe, KS United States
I recently bought a 1999 4Runner Limited. It came with 2 keys and one keyless remote. I needed 3 complete sets. I purchased 2 new remotes from Amazon and 2 new keys from remotesremotes.com (I couldn't find any keys on Amazon which had consistent reviews).

I had the keys cut by a locksmith for $10/per. I used a video found on YouTube to program the keys. It took me a couple of tries to figure out what was being explained. Once I figured it out, the keys were programmed within a couple of minutes, it was extremely easy. For my car, I had to use the pedal method (no car door involved).

My only only complaint is the time it took to ship. It took 8 days for the keys to arrive from NJ. They ship via DHL, which is the slowest possible shipping method on the face of the planet. If they simply used USPS priority shipping, it would only cost about $7 and 3 days of shipping time.

5-stars for the keys! I would buy them from here again.

5 of 5 The key works well and looks good September 28, 2016
Reviewer: Robert Anderson from Bothell, WA United States
Following the instructions I was able to get the key working in the door locks and ignition. I had previously bought a key from the hardware store for a lot more money; it worked ok too but was large and ugly compared to this key.
For an older car it helps to have the code when cutting the key since copying from an old key is not as accurate and your newly cut key might stick a bit.

4 of 5 Item worked fine but why no instructions? September 11, 2016
Reviewer: Hoot McCoy from Greeneville, TN United States
Yes, the instructions are on the net but you have to print them out or have them on a phone to follow. It would be a lot better for the keys to have printed instructions packed with them. It couldn't cost more than a dime to add them.

Having said that, it took three tries to program the first key and one try for the second one. It saved me about $80 at least over a dealer or even Walmart. So the inconvenience of no printed instructions is s minor gripe.
