Attempted to program and had several chats with Dan at RR and determined that the programing was not built into my Toyota's system.  Your results, perhaps for a later model, may be successful.  For the cost its worth the try.

I purchased one of these, was able to get it cut by a local locksmith for under $5, and then followed the provided programming directions to program the key. Everything worked perfectly!
